BRYNNE WASSEL
Art Department Freelancer | Artist

ABOUT ME
I'm an Art Department freelancer based in Chicago. Originally from Virginia, I've spent the last eight years here honing my artistic skills.
In 2019 I completed my BFA in Film and Television Production, with a Production Design Concentration, from DePaul University. While attending DePaul I was a part of the Film Fatales; a group aimed at supporting the creation of films for, by, and about women. I am also a member of the LGBTQ+ community, excited by the growth in diversity and representation I see happening in this industry.
Although my major was Production Design, my experience in film is far more varied than that would suggest. I have found myself Art Directing, Set Decorating, Scenic Painting, Constructing, Prop Fabricating, Prop Styling, Graphic Designing, and Handling Practical Effects. Productions I've been involved with have ranged from micro budget indies to 476 Union projects. Before becoming a member of Motion Picture Studio Mechanics Local 476 Union my work was mainly in the microbudget world.
I love a good challenge and pride myself on the ability to communicate thoughtfully with all departments, to ensure that everyone has what they need to create the best work possible. I am a hands-on and highly creative designer who, above all else, loves the collaborative art of filmmaking.
